Learning to Achieve

I can send him into the bank and he will do what needs to be done etc. His memory has improved so much that he tells me people’s telephone numbers and reminds me of things to be done. If I could give advice to parents out there: Don't let someone tell you, your child has reached his ceiling. As this is total rubbish. It was a long walk and at times I felt like giving up, but we didn't and I am so glad.

Teacher Astounded by His Fast Progress

Very soon we started seeing results. Already by September 1999 Hendrik was reading Grade 4 books. (At the beginning of the year he could read Grade 1 books only with great difficulty.) Hendrik brought home good reports from school and the teacher was astounded by his fast progress.

From Reading in a Mumble to Reading Loud and Clear

Janet, USA: A little over a month ago, he read 199 words in three minutes or 66 words per minute. This time he read 299 words or 100 words per minute... AND he read much more aggressively. He normally reads very quietly and almost in a mumble, but that day it was loud and clear. (My eyes are watering just writing this.)

Overcoming a Language Deficit

In June 2001 he wrote his half-year exams on Brainline for Grade 2. His average was 78%! The exams highlighted a few problems that we still need to attend to. We are currently working on these problems. His speech and vocabulary are improving on a daily basis.
