From Struggling to Read to Finding a Love of Library Books

Grace is a very motivated, energetic and humble child. She loves dancing, swimming and socializing activities. In the past, Grace has had difficulty focusing on reading and thus has had a problem spelling and writing words and sentences. Because of her reading and writing challenges, she fell behind in all her other subjects.

We enrolled her at a few different schools in an attempt to get her into an educational institute that would help, but with little to no progress. Something drastic needed to be done, or she would fall too far behind.

One day while browsing through Facebook, I came across an advert for Edublox. It looked very convincing, so we decided to try it in our desperate effort to fix the problem. This was the best decision we could have made for Grace.

She improved very quickly in very little time. Her ability to read, write, and spelling of challenging words improved so much that she even developed a love for reading library books. She now finishes reading a book in no time and then gets on our case for new reading material! These days she tackles the homework she gets from school with eagerness instead of trying to avoid it like in the years before Edublox.

Grace’s report card shows her fantastic progress from term 1 to 3.

Grace’s Edublox assessments in February and September show her reading improved by almost 2 years in 7 months.

As the parents of Grace, we feel that Edublox is a must for every child who struggles and for any parent who is serious about seeing their child have a great future.

Note from Grace’s school teacher:

I have been Grace’s teacher/facilitator for the past four and a half months. I am proud to share my experiences with Grace on her journey through Grade 6.

The girl I met on 17th May 2022 was a little bit shy and timid. She was scared to read with me at my desk, held back and nervous.

Thinking back, I realised she improved so much during the last few months:

  • She is much more at ease when reading with me.
    .
  • She is able to remember and recall facts.
    .
  • Her ability to reason and take a stand showed me that she mastered the ability to bank and store information and knowledge and apply it appropriately where needed.
    .
  • These skills improved immensely during the last couple of months.
    .
  • Her ability to concentrate and complete her given tasks is excellent, even in a classroom where there are Grade 5 and 6 learners.
    .

I am impressed with her daily behaviour in the classroom and her social behaviour on the playground.

Well done, Grace!
